Gold Futures Inch Up on Fed Independence Concerns
PRECIOUS METALS 1230 GMT – Gold futures edge higher on market concerns about the independence of the U.S. Federal Reserve, rising 0.3% to $3,427.20 a troy ounce. The precious metal has gained after President Trump said he will remove Fed governor Lisa Cook, intensifying worries about the central bank’s independence and boosting safe-haven demand, MUFG analysts say in a note.
